What We Offer
Be Active Hampshire is a free, flexible 12-week programme to help you move more and feel better—at your pace, in your community. We’ll help you choose the support that suits you best.
Here’s what to expect when you join:
Once you sign up, we’ll match you with a local programme that fits your needs and preferences.
You might join a small group at a nearby hall or leisure centre, take part online from home, or meet for a walk in your local park. However you take part, you’ll be supported by a friendly coach who understands that getting started can be the hardest part.
Built with your community
We’re developing Be Active Hampshire by working directly with residents, local groups and health partners. This means:
- Talking to people in Hampshire’s least active areas about what works and what doesn’t
- Mapping existing physical activity provision to identify opportunities that compliments what is already being offered
- Through conversations and focus groups with real people in the community, we obtained local insight into barriers such as time, confidence, and long term health conditions
The result? A programme shaped by Hampshire people, for Hampshire people.

Support Options
Not everyone moves the same way
Be Active Hampshire is designed for people who are inactive, and that includes making it easier for those who may face barriers to getting started. Support is available for people who: - Have long-term health conditions, pain or limited mobility - May need extra encouragement or confidence to take part - We work with people from all backgrounds and communities We aim to offer evening and weekend sessions in some areas, and we will offer activities in local, familiar areas that feel welcoming and easy to get to.
Who can join?
- You’re 18 or over
- You live in Hampshire or are registered with a Hampshire GP
- You’re currently doing less than 30 minutes of movement a week
- You haven’t joined the programme in the last 6 months
If that’s you, we’ll guide you to the programme that suits you when you sign up.
